DEFINITION
- The Broadband Solar Radiometer (BSR) is a modified Kipp & Zonen CM-22 Pyranometer ("http://www.kippzonen.com/") designed for aircraft applications. Bandpass: 0.2 - 3.6 microns Field-of-view: hemispheric Data Rate: 10Hz Data Format: RS232C Data Resolution 16 bit Temperature Range: +80C to ?65C Measured quantities: down and upwelling broadband solar flux (W/m 2) Derived quantities: albedo, net broadband solar flux, solar absorption in atmospheric layer These flight-ruggedized CM-22 radiometers were modified and flight-tested as part of the Sandia National Laboratory Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) - Unmanned Aerospace Vehicle (ARM-UAV) program ("http://armuav.ca.sandia.gov") [Summary provided by NASA]
