DEFINITION
- The Stratospheric Infrared Interferometer Spectrometer (SIRIS) was first carried on Nimbus 3, to obtain temperature soundings of the atmosphere. It had eight detectors, Fastie-Ebert optics, and a 12-degree field of view.
