DEFINITION
- Disruption to the normal treatment of drinking water, wastewater, or stormwater that can reduce drinking water availability and potentially increase human exposure to waterborne chemicals, pathogens, and toxins. Water treatment disruption can be a result of aging infrastructure and/or extreme weather.
