DEFINITION

  • Portable Automated Mesonet II (PAM-II) stations was installed 10 meters to the west of the mobile laboratory (measuring trace gases) and consisted of a 10 meter tower with the required sensors, master control electronics box, and antenna to transmit station data to the satellite. The station, via the satellite data link, transmitted the data to NCAR in Boulder, Colorado, where the data were archived by the NCAR/SSSF DEC MicroVAX computer.
